I'm struggling to think of an uglier steering wheel. Not to mention that I'd rather take my chances with no airbag than let that single-stage, lunchbox go off in my face.
How would you have liked to be staring at this in your E30 convertible for your whole 3 year lease in the early 90's?
So glad I have this baby (M-Tech II) and not that last one. I actually like it better than the 3 spoke sport wheel in the 335, even though its larger in diameter. Just feels amazing to hold and it's nice and squishy where your hands grip it.

Early airbag wheels were pretty atrocious across the board. Just look at this one from the F355.

My eyes! The goggles do NOTHING!
Agreed. We should start a post composed solely of horrible early 90's airbag wheels...

haha my e30 has the shitty wheel. There is one of the old mtech wheels (your 2nd pic) on a 325is at the junkyard, I need to take a sawzall out there...

Do it man. Is it the same wheel as the last one in this post?

I have this in my 635CSi.
I love the token nod to actual padding in the middle.

That's a nice wheel. Got that vintage style to it. Alpina? Any pics of the 635?

the skinny one in the second photo from the top. Not the best but lots better than the airbag beast

That one isn't bad at all. M-Tech I, if I recall correctly.

It's an 85 Euro-spec, Sable brown on nutria interior (stink brown on poo brown). Waiting on a re-stitch kit for the wheel from a guy in Florida.

Nice Style 5s. I'm about to throw some on my M5 as a winter set. They aren't in as nice shape as yours though...

This whopper shipped with the early C5 Corvettes.

I believe that's a C6. C5s had a wheel that was, somehow worse. EIther way, garbage wheel for a performance car.
